A story about a young girl living and coping with the loss of her mother to the Opioid epidemic.
Joey is a young boy living with the loss of his father, who died from the disease of addiction. He is comforted by Papa Paca, a stuffed animal made from clothing that belonged to his father. Papa Paca and Joey’s adventures together honor his father’s memory as both a person and a parent. Their journey provides the foundation for a difficult but honest discussion about substance use disorder, finding meaning and connection in heartbreak and the importance of community.
The Boston Bulldogs Running Club is a 501(c)3 non-profit club established to provide an anonymous and safe wellness community for all those adversely affected by addiction.
